SCORING

SILVER 80.00-84.99
GOLD 85.00-88.99
PLATINUM 89.00-91.99
DIAMOND 92.00-94.99
ULTIMATE DESTINY 95.00 +

Destiny will provide 3 experienced and industry relevant adjudicators. Our panel will provide all routines with feedback that is meant to promote growth, inspiration and positivity to inspire your dancers to reach their Destiny. Each adjudicator will evaluate a different element within the routine.

Judge 1 – Technique
Judge 2 – Overall Effect
Judge 3 – Performance

EXAMPLE:

Judge 1 – Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Open
Judge 2 –Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical
Judge 3- Acro, Jazz, Tap

This method is used to allow adjudicators to focus on one element and give a larger variety of comments with respect to their dance style. Every adjudicator will evaluate the technique in their top 3 suited styles of dance.

All 3 scores are added up and divided by 3 to give one final routine score.

AWARDS POLICIES

  • If a dancer has multiple solos, we take the highest scoring solo as the overall placement.

  • To ensure fairness among all competitors, all entries will perform in the order they are scheduled. If for any reason an entry must perform out of order, it must be approved by a Destiny Director and it must be danced before the end of its scheduled session. Not following this rule, the entry will not qualify for overalls.

  • In order for overalls to be distributed, the category must have a minimum of 3 or more in the category.

  • Dancers may not compete against themselves in any performance style and category. (Ie: If a performer has two Tap Solo they may only compete the second routine in the next age category up).

  • Top Studio qualification: Must bring a minimum of 5 group entries in the pre-competitive and/or competitive level to qualify in the placement. The event must have 500+ entries entered in the competition total.

  • All competition results are final.

  • Scores, placements, and adjudications will not be discussed with participants, parents, or studio representatives under any circumstances.

  • Judges are not to be approached at any time during the event. Destiny Dance Competition is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and fair adjudication.

  • Judges’ critiques and scores will be made available on Dancebug following the event. These recordings are intended to provide constructive feedback and support dancer growth.

  • Scholarships awarded at the event hold no cash value and are non-transferable unless otherwise specified. All scholarship-related inquiries must be directed to the organization listed on the award.

  • Award distribution, including placements, special awards, and scholarships, is determined at the sole discretion of Destiny Dance Competition and may vary by event location.

  • In the case of a tie, the tabulator takes the entry with the highest technical score to break the tie.

  • By registering for Destiny Dance Competition, all participants, parents, and studio representatives agree to abide by all rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the organization.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, including but not limited to disrespect toward judges, staff, or other participants, may result in disqualification and/or removal from the event.
